About Gihan
Gihan Batihk is a Grenada-based illustrator, animator, painter and tattoo artist whose imaginative vision is rooted in digital and traditional media. Originally from St. George’s, Grenada, she has created a body of work that combines influences of anime, nature, portraiture and vibrant colour.
She began exploring art as a child and gradually moved into illustration and animation, and has transitioned into a tattoo as her new canvas. She has developed proficiency with both digital tools, traditional techniques and the ink needle. Gihan also participates in the local arts scene she made her debut in a pop-up hosted by the Grenada Arts Council, illustrating her emerging presence in Grenada’s creative community.
In the Grenadian context, Gihan is part of a new generation of artists who merge global influences (anime, digital art) with Caribbean sensibilities creating locally-made art that resonates both at home and online. Her participation in public events and pop-ups shows a commitment to making her work visible and engaging within the community.
